ABOUT

  Originally from Surrey England Sarah initially trained with one of the foremost restorers of painted and decorated antiques, Mr Reginald Dudman of London. During her years with Mr Dudman Sarah gained a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the techniques of master craftsmen and artists. She worked on some of the most important pieces for private collectors, the antiques trade and museums including the Victoria & Albert museum and the Science museum. One of her most noted projects in the 1980's was working on the restoration of the painted and gilded Throne canopy that houses the throne from where the queen of England opens parliament in the the house of lords, Palace of Westminster. 

   On leaving Reginald Dudman's Studio Sarah moved to Dorset where she ran her own decorative and applied arts and restoration business for approximately 16 years. Her many clients included the Hon. T Lindsay of Heddingham Castle and exhibited her own original crafts and paintings at such venues as Longleat house, Waterperry house, Charterhouse school, Loosely house and Highclere Castle. During this time she was inspired by the beautiful Dorset countryside to paint more of her own paintings and on receiving a very positive response decided to concentrate entirely on this.

  After visiting Ireland in 2001 and falling in love with the truly beautiful countryside Sarah and her partner decided to sell up and move to Ireland and home now is County Tipperary. In the summer of 2005 she had a residency at the really inspirational Cill Rialaig artist's retreat in County Kerry followed by a solo exhibition at the origin Gallery , Dublin and then the gallery at Cill Rialaig. Sarah had two further solo exhibitions at the Origin gallery and two with the Lee Gallery in Cork and in 2010 she was invited by the president of the all Ireland polo club to exhibit a collection of her polo paintings at the pavillion club house in the phoenix park, Dublin. Sarah is now mainly represented in Ireland by Kilcock art gallery, County Kildare where she has had three successful solo exhibitions. In the uk she has exhibited at WH Pattersons of Mayfair, London and was also selected to exhibit at the Mercers Hall in the city of London as part of the National Open Art exhibition. Her work adorns numerous private collections, has featured in magazines such as the international art magazine and two of her painting have been purchased for the State art collection of Ireland. Sarah is a member of AERA (association embracing realist art).
